The ends without tension: how to apply a strip properly
Prepare, apply, activate, remove. A guide in four steps and the mistakes that happen most often.

Tape can only hold if it is applied well. The good news: the most important rules are simple. Most of them are in every set of instructions, including ours.1
1. Prepare
The skin has to be clean and dry. Oil, lotion, cream and sweat interfere with the adhesive. Trim thick hair beforehand so the tape sticks to the skin and not to the hair.12 Apply the tape about an hour before exercise. That gives the adhesive time to bond.1
2. Apply
Peel off the backing and touch the adhesive side as little as possible. Always apply the ends without tension.12 They are the anchor of the strip. If they are under tension, they pull on the skin all the time and come loose sooner. How much tension makes sense in the middle depends on the spot. Your physiotherapist is the best person to show you.
3. Activate
After applying, rub firmly over the whole tape several times. This helps the adhesive bond with the skin.12
4. Remove
Wear the tape for 7 days at most.1 To remove it, peel it off slowly and close to the skin, in the direction of hair growth. Do not rip it upwards.12
The most common mistakes
- Tension at the ends: the anchor gives way and the strip comes loose.
- Taping right before training: the adhesive had no time.
- Square corners: corners catch on clothing. That is why our strips are pre-cut and rounded.2
- Morning moisturiser: even lotion that has soaked in weakens the adhesive.
